What do we do – where the money goes.

The money we raise through our various events go to a variety of local and international causes including the following:

  • We send 3 high school students per year to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
  • We participate in the Truckee Meadows Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) program to sponsor 1 outbound exchange student and support 1 inbound exchange student each year
  • We sponsor a Rotary Eighth Gread Leadshership (REGL) program at DePoali Middle School
  • We provide prizes for our club’s Music and Speech Contests
  • International projects
  • We provide funds towards a college scholarship for graduating seniors in our sponsored school
  • Additionally, we sponsor a variety of community service projects which in the past have included:
    • Sending a 5th grade class from Smithridge Elementary to the Challenger Learning Program
    • Providing painting and landscaping services for seniors in our community
    • Providing mobility equipment for severely handicapped children at Marvin Picolo school
    • Providing new mattresses to the Veteran’s Resource Center and wreaths for the Veteran’s Cemetary for the Wreaths Across America effort
    • Providing books for grieving children to the Solace Tree

And much, much more!
